How to read a Nutritional Label

What is in front of a beautiful food package is not enough to know if it's healthy or not. It could say grams of protein, if is sugar free or low in sugar, 0 trans fats. Etc... but that is not enough information. We need to turn around the bag and take a look of the actual nutritional label.

For me, calories which are usually in a bigger font for you to look at it first are not the most important thing.

Tips to see if is healthy

* List of ingredients. If there is any ingredient you can’t read because of the complex word it’s probably an ingredient you don’t want to have in your body those are usually ( additives, colorants and preservatives) those just make food look prettier or “a fresh look”

* Look at the serving size: if is sweet: more than 9-10 grams per serving size it’s not healthy anymore.

* If it's savory: more than 140 mg per serving is high. (Not healthy anymore)

If the ingredients are organic and Non-GMO even better. I carefully made our nutritional labels, as a mother, nutrition and dietetic student is very important to us the qualitative of our ingredients, the process, and quantities.
